This set of 90 trading cards was originally released by Comic Images and each glossy 2.5 x 3.5 inch card (sold in packs of ten) reprinted a painting by influential fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, with the back of each card featuring biographical information on the artist.
There are some great paintings in this third batch of cards, including two that illustrated the covers to Edgar Rice Burrough’s John Carter of Mars series (#41 and #45). But the stand-out painting has to be The Destroyer (#44), one of Frazetta’s most famous works (an altered version appeared on the cover of Lancer Books‘ Conan The Buccaneer), the original of which sold for $1.5 million in 2010, the most paid for one of the artist’s paintings.
Here are the next 15 cards in the set – click on the images to enlarge. Please note: some of the paintings feature nudity.
